Acorn Squash (Cucurbita pepo)

This small hybrid winter squash is perfect for roasting and cubing. This squash are known as winter squash because they typically keep well through the winter months when cured properly. This particulr variety of acorn squash is a hybrid bush variety that can help you save space because the plant is a bush instead of a vine.

Planting/Harvesting Notes

  • Plant after all chance of frost has passed in an area that receives full sun
  • Plant 4-5 feet apart
  • Matures in 75-80 days
  • Cure outside for 7-10 days in the warm sun before storing in a cool, dry place that is between 55-60F
