Shishito peppers are a Japanese heirloom variety that are known for their smoky and pepper flavor that is brought out by cooking them. These plants are compact, topping out at 2 feet , making them perfect for large containers or small space gardening. These plants produce prolifically. The fruits mature from green to red, but they are traditionally consumed green.
