These peppers also go by the name Vezena Piperka or “embroidered pepper"in Macedonia for their scarred skin that looks like it was stitched. These peppers finished between 6-8 inches and the heat of a jalapeno. The peppers can be dried to make a paprika powder or grilled to make a delicious dinner. The lines on the pepper are important to the flavor because they release sugars and flavor as they heat.

Planting/Harvesting Notes

  • Plant once all chance of frost has passed

  • Space plants 12-18 inches apart in a location that gets at least 8 hours of sun daily

  • Matures in 75-90 days

    Seed Saving

To save seed, allow the pepper to turn yellow on the plant, then harvest, cut the pepper, scrape out the seeds and dry on a flat surface such as a screen, paper plate or baking sheet. Allow to dry for 1-2 weeks and then store in a paper envelope.
