Additional photos and information via Forgotten Heirlooms

This pepper plant is a show stopper. It has dark glossy black/grey leaves with These plants are grown for their ornamental value, but also the chilis have heat! Their heat level is 10,000-30,000 SHU, similar to a serrano pepper. The flavor is citrusy and sweet, but this pepper is worth growing for its stunning beauty. The plant only reaches 2-2.5 feet tall, so it is perfect for containers. This plant produces many pods. They were developed by Rob Griesbach and Jon Stommel of Agricultural Research Service’s Laboratory.
