Shiso is a member of the mint family that has strong flavors of cumin, anise, mint, and nutmeg. The plant grows similarly to basil and even resembles a large basil plant once established.

Plant after all chance of frost has passed

Plant in an area with well drained soil and 6-8 hours of sun.

Harvesting some leaves often will encourage the plant to grow more leaves

Harvest by pinching tips frequently to encourage bushy growth

Can companion plant with tomatoes, cabbage, strawberries and squash, helping to reduce tomato hornworm and cabbage worm damage
