Holy Basil

Holy basil is used in Thai cooking and is often used to flavor dishes like Pad Krapao. The basil has a strong clove aroma and the flavor is very unique! It is excellent as a last minute flavoring for stir frys, sea food dishes, and soups. You can also use it dried as a tea. This is our favorite type of basil!

Trouble shooting

Having trouble growing your basil in a pot? You may be using the wrong pot size! If you don’t get a compact basil variety, you will need a very large pot to grow basil in. One basil plant will need at least a 1 gallon pot (6-7in diameter), but a 2-3 gallon pot will produce a more productive plant.

Did your basil plant die after flowering? Basil is an annual and will fail to thrive after flowering. Cut off flowers to keep leaf production high. The flowers are edible and can be even more flavorful than the leaves.

Planting/Harvesting Notes
