Wild columbine is a perennial that produces beautiful nodding flowers with red bodies and yellow centers. This plant will get up to 2 feet tall and readily self seeds.
Planting/Harvesting Notes
- Plant in a shady area with well drained soil.
- Leave 8 inches on either side of the plant to allow for growth
- Blooms attract hummingbirds, bees, butterflies, and hawk moths. Seeds consumed by finches and buntings.
- Once the plants become established, they can become very aggressive and may need thinning from time to time.
