New England Aster

These native flowers are some of the last to bloom in the fall. They have adorable small bright purple flowers with yellow centers. The plants can reach 3-4ft tall and 2-3 ft wide so plan accordingly when planting. The plant can be trimmed as needed to maintain a reasonable shape.

Planting/Harvesting Notes

Choose a spot in your yard that gets at least 6 hours of sun a day. Dig a hole twice as wide and as deep as the container. Then carefully remove the flower from the pot. Place the flower in the hole and fill the hole. Water the soil well to help it settle around the roots.

This plant is a perrenial and comes back larger in the second year so plan accordingly when planting.
